Keila's London City Guide

Keila presents us with her London City Guide and hidden gems. Where are her happy places to unwind and go out when she is not working at Satan's Whiskers? Do you know all of them? If not, you should put them on your list for your next visit to LDN...

KEILA'S FAVOURITE PLACES TO PLAY

1. Barrafina: Probably the restaurant I go the most to. I just love sitting at the counter and watch the chefs work; also the staff speaking Spanish makes me feel nostalgic in the nicest way. The Gambas al ajillo are something that I sometimes dream of.
26-27 Dean St, London W1D 3LL

2. Conservatory of the Archives: It’s the plant shop version of Kew Gardens. I love going there and treat myself with a new exotic plant.
493-495 Hackney Rd E2 9ED

3. L’eau a la bouche: French epicerie in Broadway Market. You can get all the sauscisson and cheese in the world, and French products you can’t find anywhere else in East London.
35-37 Broadway Market, London E8 4PH

4. Bar Termini: My favourite cocktail bar. I used to work next door, and I remember observing all the works for months wondering what it would be, and finally the first time I went in shortly after they opened, I sat down and felt like I suddenly was in a train station in a remote part of Italy. Today it still makes me feel the same and I find it magical.

5. - The Clove Club: It is a treat, however it is worth it. The food, the space, the service, the details: the best culinary experience I have ever had, from start to finish absolutely mind blowing.

KEILA'S FAVOURITE PLACES TO UNWIND

1. Kew Gardens: One of the biggest botanical gardens in the whole world, it is worth traveling an hour from central London to visit it. My favourite greenhouse is the Water Lilies: it is genuinely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to.

2. Ceramic courses: I have done already a couple of courses and although it is a struggle waking up early after a night shift, it is the most relaxing activity I have ever done. Honestly, whoever might feel a bit too stressed should try it.

3. Holly Village: This is actually a private property, a residential complex built in the late XIX with a neo- gothic style. Long story short it looks like a set of a Tim Burton’s film. If you enjoy architecture sighting, this is definitely worth the detour.
?  N6 6QJ Holly Village, London

4. Broadway market on Saturdays: AKA Hipster Ville; delicious street food, and little stands with super-duper organic vegetables and meats, hand crafted jewellery, vintage second hand clothing, and all sort of artisans.
?  Broadway Market London Fields, London E8 4PH

5. Victoria Park Market on Sundays: food trucks with food from all over the world, choose your fav and enjoy it while crossing the park and having a walk along the canal.
